Wandering in Panagyuirshte

August 31, 2017 by Theodore 1 Comment

The town of Panagyurishte sits about an hour and a half east of Sofia and features a variety of important artifacts and buildings related to the April Uprising of 1876 against the Ottomans. I stayed in a wonderful restored taverna and ate much too much delicious food, especially tarator, a cold soup of cucumbers, yogurt, walnuts and garlic.
